When are wait times traditionally the shortest?
The shortest wait times tend to be later in the week. Another good time to call is on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. or 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
When are the longest call center wait times?
Generally, the longest wait times are on Monday and Tuesday mornings or on the first day after a holiday. Wait times also can be a bit longer during lunch breaks, between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The end of the day, between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. is often busy. Other busy times are on rainy days and when there are "hot" issues that affect a lot of licensees.

When you call, be prepared with a pen or pencil and paper so you can write down information. If you're a licensee, it's important to know your license number and what specific questions you have. If you've got a complicated issue, be sure the person who calls can answer all the questions staff may ask.
